Often enough, people love asking me: “What would you do if you weren’t a musician?” I used to respond that I wouldn’t know as music is my life. However, if you asked me the same question now, I would slightly change that answer. While music is and has been my life for a very long time, I have discovered that I do have other strong interests. Fashion, content creation, and, recently, writing are some of the things that I am also passionate about. There is one common factor among these interests: creativity.
I have been exploring more of my creative side, recently with photography. I know… everyone wants to be a photographer these days. But I genuinely enjoy taking pictures, what can I say? I have been doing street photography, mainly because it seems the most natural to me. I can just work with my lens and the environment that surrounds me. I think it also helps me to visualize images in my head more efficiently as I am looking around and looking for a “cool shot”. Lastly, I just enjoying taking photos of random things/moments and making something beautiful out of them. Taking a picture of a very beautiful landscape, for example, feels good. However, for me, it is more rewarding to try to make something out of a rather uninteresting picture.
By no means am I claiming that I take great photos/I am able to completely transform very common pictures into wonderful pieces of art. All I am saying is that I have been experimenting a lot with different creative choices. It has personally been very rewarding to see the before and after of each picture that I take. I feel like everyday I learn something new with every photo that I get to edit. My workflow feels much better in just two weeks. I am definitely very excited to keep learning and exploring. In the meantime, here are some of my favorite shots from this past week:

In other words…
what would I do if I wasn’t a musician?
My creative self.
Thanks for your time, and I hope to see you next week!
Until the next upbeat!
Cheers,
Isma
