Today I wanted to finish my Peabody Saga. I feel like I left the story in a very suspenseful moment in which I was so close, yet so far to actually stepping into Peabody. But to be honest, I feel incredibly tired right now, and it feels like I would not do justice to this very crucial moment of the story. So there is a little change of plans today! Instead of the finale of the Peabody Saga, I will keep it short and tell you a bit of what I have been up to this week.
LA Phil
It’s my second week at the Hollywood Bowl this season. I love that venue so much. Looking out there to an audience of roughly eighteen thousand people cheering for us is an electric experience.
The pace of the summer season is very fast with the LA Phil. We often do about three programs per week, and we get just one rehearsal before the concert for most of the programs. Many of these pieces are new for me. I gotta put in the work so that I can show up ready. Overall, I am grateful to have such an amazing opportunity to be doing what I love on a daily basis.
Ismacello Apparel
We have been silent for the past few months, but I just want to let you know that things are cooking slowly but surely. We have been working tirelessly on building this brand, but good things take time, and patience is key. I am learning not to rush things, but also not to waste time. It is a fine balance, and I know it will all be worth it at the end.
Teaching
I just welcomed two new students into my studio at Pasadena Conservatory of Music. I have been enjoying teaching a lot, especially adapting to the very specific needs of each of my students. Teaching has also taught me new lessons, and I look forward to keep learning as a teacher haha.
Extra gigs
I didn’t have any extra gigs this week, but some paychecks from gigs I did over a month ago are starting to come in, so I guess that’s great.
That’s it for today, but I promise next week I will be finishing my Peabody Saga. Thanks so much for sticking around. I appreciate each and every single one of you.
Until the next upbeat!
Cheers,
Ismael

three programs in a week is crazy 😶🌫️ i’m never complaining about anything again
